Jim Bowie
Line 6 Variax 500 Electric Guitar
Line 6 Variax 300 Electric Slide Guitar
Gibson EDS 1275
Yamaha Piano
Talkbox
Harmony Vocals
Whilst at school Jim was formally taught Piano and graduated onto playing guitar as well as piano and keyboards.
He has played in bands with Mark (Hotel California’s drummer) since these school days and spent many a day jamming with Mark in a rehearsal room back in the early 80’s hammering out classic rock and Eagles numbers.
Neither of these guys were aware that 20 plus years later they would be in Hotel California
In their younger days whilst cycling on one bike a friendly policeman advised that ‘one seat’ meant ‘one rear end’ on the bike and they had a moment of clarity. This moment has never returned, yet both strive for clarity in their daily lives!
Jim’s acute attention to detail has allowed the band to get ‘as close’ as possible to the original sound of the Eagles both musically and vocally and Jim still strives to improve this at each rehearsal and show that the band undertake.
Jim’s vocal usually sits high in the stack and adds that dimension which is often a trademark characteristic of these Californian musicians.
Jim also is the driver behind the band recording and they plan to release a live recording of songs from the shows in the very near future.
Jim is a keen runner and has often been spotted early on a Sunday morning out doing his thing before a 10am band rehearsal-True dedication indeed! The rest of the band are keen supporters of Jim running and feel that one really fit member in any band is more than enough, so in the words of Steve Winwood-Keep on running.
